Can I take vitamin D with copper?
The short answer
Yes. Vitamin D and copper don't compete for absorption and can be taken together safely. Many people take them at the same time as part of a general wellness stack with no issues.
Why there's no conflict
The absorption problems that affect copper come from other minerals that share its transporters or bind it — principally zinc and iron. Vitamin D is a fat-soluble vitamin absorbed by a completely different pathway, so it does not interfere with copper uptake. Copper likewise has no meaningful effect on vitamin D absorption.
A practical stacking note
Vitamin D is best absorbed with a meal containing some fat, and copper bisglycinate is well tolerated with food, so taking both with breakfast or dinner is a convenient, effective routine. The only mineral you should keep apart from copper by a few hours is high-dose zinc or iron — not vitamin D.
